The tribe’s brewer and medicine maker. He knows which roots will not kill you at this altitude, which beetles reduce fever, and exactly how much of a particular fungus is too much. He is who Broken Tusk sends when someone needs treatment. He is also who the children go to when they need something that smells terrible.
He has never had children of his own. In practice he has helped raise most of the tribe’s young — through pranks, which is also, without anyone quite saying so, how he teaches stealth, patience, observation, and reading a room before committing. The stinky mixtures are the lesson. Most of the students do not figure that out until much later.
He handed Dr. Medicine a pouch that produces perfectly good spices alongside a smell precisely like deeply spoiled milk, shortly after an incident involving curdled milk. He did this with complete sincerity and an entirely straight face. He has not mentioned it since. Neither has anyone else.
