The Coldpeak’s lead hunter. Carries a massive longbow across his chest with hatchets and a knife for close work. Skeptical of outsiders and does not hide it. When Broken Tusk suggested bringing the party along to find the missing hunters, Kaarsk agreed — barely — and immediately made clear the terms: don’t slow us down.

He moved at a pace that required an Athletics check just to keep up. When a hunter fell through the ice and took exhaustion, Kaarsk sent him home with an escort and kept going without breaking stride. After the wolf fight he skinned the pack himself, and gave River a nod for helping — which is apparently as close to a compliment as he gets.

Berg speaking Orcish on the first day made an impression — not as a diplomatic gesture, but as a statement of what Berg is. Kaarsk has been quietly revising his read of the party ever since, though he hasn’t said so.

Resents the Reghedsmen who wander close to Coldpeak territory, taking game the tribe can’t spare. Resents the peace Broken Tusk has made with them more. Savin is a daily reminder of both.

When Rimetalon attacked the camp in Session 6, Kaarsk held the line against the elemental spirits while the party went after the beast. He fought through it. He looked at Berg, pointed past himself, and said “I’ve got these. GO.” He is injured. He has not stopped moving.
