Rool — Session 39 (August 17, 2023)

Waking Strongheart & The Witch Queen’s Name

• Completed a short rest.
• Returned to the servant’s quarters to investigate what we saw last time. Mystar rang the bell, summoning a thin individual in a brown waistcoat.
• In the kitchen, discovered a massive multi-tiered cake on a table and 8 pixies frozen in time. Also found a cart containing several trussed-up giant rats.
• Had to share a secret to make Thinnings, the butler, appear:
  • Rool shared that “not all of pocket chicken is chicken.”
  • Mystar claimed to be bad at songwriting.
  • Dawn confessed she may have dropped a kid.
  • Sebastian/Azreal shared that his relationship with Zybilna was “not purely platonic.”
• Learned that the Jabberwock was partly trained by Zybilna to drink from the cauldron, which helped keep Kelek away.
• Heard that Bloody Beak in the palace might be able to confront the Jabberwock. He is frozen in the aviary and can be freed by touching him with the unicorn horn and speaking his name.
• Bloody Beak/Thinnings shared that Zybilna’s true name is Iggwilv.
• Received a handbell to call him later.
• Climbed the beanstalk and met a talking toad in a wizard’s robe named Igrick. He had been researching in the library and was not frozen.
• The toad shared the location of the unicorn horn, associating it with winged boots.
• Headed back to the central tower.
• Cast Zone of Truth and Speak with Dead on Kelek:
  • “Zybilna isn’t her real name.”
  • “She is Iggwilv the Witch Queen.”
  • Asked: “Are you awake?” Kelek answered: “Yes.”
  • Asked: “What is your greatest regret?” Kelek answered: “Meeting the Hourglass Coven.”
• Located Strongheart, set him on an owl, and woke him up.
• From there, we proceeded toward Zybilna.
