Coldpeak Camp

The home of the Coldpeak, an orc tribe currently under siege from Rimetalon and whatever is driving her. The party arrived here at the end of Session 2, vouched for by Savin and Pasha, and has been guests since.

The camp sits where the mountain folds inward — a natural hollow of cliff faces and cave mouths that breaks the worst of Icewind Dale’s wind and keeps the snow manageable. Hide tents fill the sheltered ground, arranged around fire pits rather than in any formal pattern. There are no walls. The mountain is the wall. The great hall is a wide cavern near the back of the hollow, where the tribe gathers to eat, argue, and wait out the worst weather. A fire burns there constantly.

The tribe relies on the mountain goat flocks for dairy — not just meat. Rimetalon attacking those flocks is an existential threat, not just a danger to hunters. And the hunters have been going missing.

Broken Tusk leads. Savin is being groomed to succeed her against his will. Kaarsk runs the hunts. The tribe has known about the Netherese ruins in the mountain for generations and has always avoided them. Two orc guards were found dead outside the camp entrance after Session 3, their bodies arranged around a rune of goat entrails with a single bloody white feather at the center. The rune read: Soon.
