Hauk
The Coldpeak’s trapper. The scars on his hands and forearms are not decorative — they are a record of every lesson the snare line teaches, accumulated over a long career of learning them personally.
He offered Raydin a choice in Session 11: copy Hauk’s tested designs, or try something of his own. He explained the designs. He laid out the stakes. Then he walked away and let Raydin decide. He came back to find the snare had closed on Raydin’s hand — two damage, a mark that will last — and delivered his assessment without ceremony: “That’s why I left you alone. You seemed the sort.”
He does not explain himself twice. He does not perform patience. When he trusts someone to try something, he leaves them alone to try it, and whatever they learn from the outcome is the lesson. He has been running traps long enough that this is simply how he teaches.
